Welcome to ASCE at The Catholic University of America
American Society of Civil Engineers was founded in 1852, and is the oldest national professional engineering society in the United States. Our organization connects engineering students with other students, employers, and opportunities for real-world engineering applications.

Mission Statement:

The purpose of this organization shall be to illustrate the applications of Civil Engineering, so there is a clear correlation between the classroom teachings and real world practice. ASCE creates well-rounded individuals who are versed in the interviewing process, mentoring young people, and dealing with more aspects of Civil Engineering through hands on experiences through Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge.

Involvement
Here at Catholic University, ASCE is a major part of the Civil Engineering Department. Students are able to join and learn more about Civil Engineering with classmates and peers. The General Meetings take place once a month with at least one guest speaker or event each month!

Here at CUA ASCE, we work with Civil Engineering Advisers, Career Services, Professors, and local engineering companies to learn more about careers in Civil Engineering!
Hands-On
Learning
In addition to local construction site visits, students can join our Concrete Canoe or Steel Bridge Design Teams! Each year, both teams compete in the ASCE Virginia Regional Conference Competition!
